Reading another thread has made me wonder about privacy in our gardens. How important is it to you?
This is the first house I have lived in where most of my garden is not overlooked and the fences are too high to see neighbours. Or for them to see me...probably a good thing.
In a way I miss the over the fence banter with my previous home's neighbours...but I suppose it depends on the neighbours...my last one was the dishy builder so if the fence had been higher I'd have had to invest in stilts...x

I have complete privacy and love it. We have a couple of neighbours but they can't see into our garden and we are quite spaced out. and we have fields out the back. It is very very important to me to have privacy. We are on good terms with our neighbours but don't just pop into each others houses and no talking over the garden fence. We help each other out when necessary. Suits me just fine. It worries me though as if we ever have to move to a smaller home because of age, health etc, we would also get neighbours. I just hate the thought that people know what is going on in our home, including whether we are in or out or have visitors etc.
Today I am slouching about in a long kaftan which I use as a dressing gown in the summer and is very cool and doesn't touch anywhere. At least there is no one about that can see how awful I look!! ;o)
Have a fence between one neighbour and us, a fence between the other one and us.
Houses are staggered though, so we each have a bit of privacy with or without fences.
