Ipad - Transferring Photos

OK - I have finally capitulated and joined the iPaderatti. I expect this will be the first of many questions :)

Not even switched it on yet ... but, once I have got it going, a priority job will obviously be to transfer a lot of my photos onto it - many, many gigglebytes.

What's the easiest/fastest/simplest way. I see that you can buy sd/usb/lightning adaptors, but they seem to have very mixed reviews and it appears that they will only work with certain file names and folder structures. Is there another, better way to load up my photos (already on my windows laptop).

Can the ABiPad sister/brotherhood help please.

You cold have avoided joining the Apple "crowd" and gone for a Samsung Galaxy tablet.

Every bit as good as an iPad, and cheaper.

I don't think an iPad has got a USB slot so you cant plug a USB device into it.

Why do you need many gigabytes of photos on it? The iPad will have limited memory (16Gb?) so you don't need to fill it up with photos.

dave...this doesn't answer your question BUT, when i send photographs from my iPad, the recipient receives them upside down and that is fro whatever the position of the iPad when i take them.

No an iPad hasn't a USB slot, but it comes with a connection which one end fits into the iPad and the other end has a USB connection.

Check out Google Drive, why take up all the memory on your ipad. Load the pics up from your laptop to Google Drive then access Google Drive from the laptop when you need to look at them.

If the pictures are on your android phone then there is a cool little app I found about a couple of days ago, it's called Bump, you literally bump the two devices together and it transfers files over.

Dave, there's an app called (surprisingly) 'Photo transfer' which will upload photos from your PC / laptop via wifi. Very simple.

I really need to investigate these apps more thoroughly, I seem to miss all the best ones.
