M4v to MP4

Does anyone know how convert an M4V file to an MP4 file easily and quickly?

M4V files are MP4's already.

if it has no copy protection simply rename it so the file extension is MP4 and any player that supports MP4's should play it fine.

At the end of the name where it says .m4v, click and highlight it and retype .mp4.

I was sent an m4v, i downloaded it - tried to rename it to mp4 but it won't! it now says

mp4.m4v

I can't seem to change it!

it's the part after the . you have to change.

right click on it, select rename and name it "whatever.mp4"

I'm not sure if it has copy protection - but I'm not sure how to start re-naming it? i need step by step! how do i start?

finally managed it - the reason i couldn't rename it from m4v to mp4 was because first I had to turn off "Hide extensions for known filetypes" in Windows - once i did this, the extension was shown and i could change it ;-)

iTunes videos are most often M4V's and are DRM protected file types (that doesn't mean all M4V's are protected). There is no free/easy way to convert them to AVI /MP4/WMV - but I posted a link to a video that will show you how to do it anyway.
