Pork and Chicken Kebabs

Im wanting to cook some chicken and pork kebabs on skewers. Is it ok to put the 2 raw meats together and should i fry them in a pan or in the oven? Anyone got any nice recipe ideas?

It is okay to put 2 different meats on the same skewer - just follow the same rules of washing your hands after etc. And of course make sure that it is cooked well.

As above, perfectly OK to cook together. You're probably thinking about the cross-contamination that can occur when you place uncooked meat next to cooked - e.g., the case of the butcher's that put raw meat next to ham.


If you are going to cook mixed meats on a skewer, 1) you need to make sure that the meat that takes the longest gets enough time to cook thoroughly 2) you'd probably want to do them under the grill 3) maybe baste with oil / marinade to prevent drying out/burning 4) if using wooden skewers, wet first.

Thank you both for your answers i might marinade them but not sure in what yet and put them on the George Foreman maybe.
glaze it with honey and soya sauce.
