How do i get on a Birth Certificate ? (Farther)
It was a tricky situation when the mother of my child was pregnant she left me 4 months into the pregnancy, and told me the only reason she was with me was to have another child so she did not have to work and be supported by me and the farther to her older daughter. She went away and stopped me from seing my son and i was hunting for him for about 2 years could not find were she had gone and then she moved back to the town and then next minute i know i get a phone call from CSA requesting money ! Now i have had full contact with him for the past 2 years and everything is great except a phew things she trys to rock the boat alot between me and my new partner.
Now during the first two years i didn't know when he was born or were and was not present during signing of the legal documents. I have asked her for his Birth certificate several times to open a child saving account which i have 6k ready to go in for when he is 18. But she rufuses to show me or hand it over to do so, this is raisin concern to why and also more i think about it there is nothing to say i am his father and i have no legal rights ! (not that a father has any so i have been told)
So what i want to know is how do i get on the birth certificate ?
Any help would be gratefully received
thank you

I am a mother in the reverse situation to yourself, the father of my son is unfortunately unwilling to face responsibility. I have recently been granted a Declaration of Parentage. Though at present still waiting for the Birth Certificate to be amended. My ex partner is still trying to avoid being named...sadly. If you would like any advice I will do my best to help you. If you still need it that is. Good luck and I hope it all works out for you.
I'm a mother in the reverse situation to yourself. My son's father has refused to be named on the Birth Certificate, so I have recently had to attend court in order to be granted a Declaration of Parentage. I had a rather rubbish letter from the courts today though, hence finding this on here. I have to wait now to find out if the registrar will use the declaration to enable the amendment of my son's birth certificate. As his father is kicking up a big fuss about not being named. I was just wondering how you got on? Also to offer advice if you still need it.
