Some websites allow you to save your username and/or password so that when you re-visit them it is automatically entered. I assume that these details are stored in a file somewhere deep in the bowels of Windows. Can anyone tell me where they are located.

I thought they were stored in your computer
Generally, when you save a username/password they are stored as 'cookies' in your internet browser files.

You can delete these if you look through your browsers options and you can even set your browser to delete them when you close the program. What browser are you using?
They're usually stored as Cookies. Alternatively, a website will hold a password, (It's annoying, cleaning out cookies then finding you've deleted a password for a site, and can't remember what it was!) Alternatively, a password is held by a website, and a cookie is left on your computer that tells it to allow access to the password.
smug smug, on mac there is a thing called keychain that stores all your passwords encrypted...you call it up, put in the supervisor password and there they all are....its sooooooo useful when, like me, you have no brain.
I use Firefox and it's password manager is a boon, can delete individual passwords at will, not as convenient as the Mac keychain though.
