Saw the opening of a documentary about Desert Island Discs on I-Player, and one image set me thinking - it was of originator Roy Plomley filing his nails.

What personal habits do you think are private, that you see some people do in front of others, and find it makes you sqeamish?

Filing nails is one - especially men, but also -

using a paper table napkin as a hankie and then leaving it on the plate
spraying deoderant
applying make-up
brushing hair
cleaning fingernails
blowing nose

any others?

I've no objection to people filing their nails, I do it myself - get out the emery board rather than sit there with a broken nail.
Well I watched a girl, on the tube last week, paint her toenails dark purple.
I was full of admiration and envy at the ease with which she reached her nails....I have to wedge my foot on a low windowsill, stretch and hold my breath in my attempt to reach my toenails...:-(
If i picked my nose I would not have ended up with the one I have got now.
