can anyone tell me. i have a cold fill washing machine so only connection for cold pipe. can i attach this pipe to the hot water instead so it will fill hot. my reson is cos the powder in the drawer doesn't seem to be dissolving enough to go in i'm assuming the water is too cold ( prob wrong ) i am so fed up with this machine i've had it since nov and had nothing but problems with it. please help thank you

The water would be far too hot for woolens and delicates if you hooked it up to the hot water. There would be no way of letting in cold to balance the temperatures out.

An easier way round that problem is to use another type of detergent - capsules or liquids that go directly into the drum.
i have this problem as well also my machine never seems to take enough water to give the clothes a good sloshing so now once it has started i pour a watering can full of hot water in the draw carefully if not you will end up washing your feet as well
You must connect it to a cold supply, as the machine will heat it to the correct temp., also for rinsing purposes the water must be cold too - and remember the running costs down the drain. Get a mains connection fitted

You can get away with it on a dishwasher but not for clothes. As Ruthann said, try hot water in the detergent drawer after it starts filling.
