I intend installing a 2nd bigger hard drive to my pc, as I only have 1.90 gig left on "C" drive & 13 Gig on "D", when installed will the new drive appear as a seperate drive or will it intigrate with the existing one? If this is the case how do I keep my info and install the new drive? As yi have guessed I am definately not that computer literate!!!

If you install a new drive, it will show up as an entirely new drive (usually it's automatically assigned a new letter too, in my case, my second hard drive is the F: drive.)

Thanks for that - So if I want to increase the size of the hard drive with my operating system on do I need to start fron scratch or is there a clever way of getting around it?
If you have Windows XP it really will be a doddle.

The new hard drive will be 'integrated' and work straight away, although as a seperate drive with a new letter.

It will use the the OS you already have and you will not need to install it on to the new drive.
If you wanted to get a new hard drive for your operating system, it's a bit more complicated.

I assume you're wanting to replace the C drive?

One way of doing it would be to buy the new hard drive and connect it up. From here, you could download a free trial of a drive cloning software. The free trials usually let you try it once, but since you'll only be needing it once, it won't be a problem.

You can use this software to copy everything from your old hard drive to the new one, bit for bit. You can then clear/remove the old one if you need to.

I am running XP and yes I need to have more space on the "C" drive as well as "D" - useing the cloning software sounds ideal for me - many thanks
