I was told by a Ford salesman that they no longer make a 2.0 litre Focus. Apparently the new 1.6 is as powerful as the old 2.0. This was done for ecology reasons. I have looked at the spec and the new 1.6 is 125bhp whereas the old 2.0 is 140bhp. Does it mean the 1.6 is less powerful?

yes, as an engine, but if they've saved some weight on the new car then the performance overall will not have been effected.
125bhp?

You're looking at/being told about the 1.0L ecoboost.

The 1.6 starts at 150hp with a 160hp also being available (a 180hp is to follow)
