Avon Lady

My Avon lady has given up and I have been wondering if I should try and take on her round. I have never done anything like this before. Is there anyone out there who has been or is an Avon lady and can tell me what is involved (apart from the obvious, delivering catalogue, collection catalogue with orders, delivering orders). Is there any financial outlay. I know some of you will say I should just get in contact with a manager and ask details, I always find those kind of people very persuasive as they want someone else to manage, sometimes they don't always say exactly whats involved. I don't know if the managers get a rake-off from your sales. Any advise will be very much appreciated.

i did it for awhile, although only selling to people at work. don't do it! its a lot of hassle and i always ended up out of pocket. you have to buy the catalogues, bags, order forms etc yourself and you have to take the orders to, and pick up the goods from, a collection point (in my case this was a local petrol station). also they have 'rep only' items for sale (usually end of line products) that are hard to resist. if you still want to buy avon products yourself i would suggest using their website. although with so many shops and websites selling similar items these days i do wonder why avon still has the 'avon lady' anymore!

Thanks very much for your advise hobsonbear I did'nt realize they sold online, so if I want anything I can order from there. It sounds like alot of hassle to be an Avon Lady.

Its a hassle and at first you get a few orders because you are enthusiastic and you get all your friends and colleagues to order but then it all tails off. I think the days of 'ding dong' Avon calling are numbered.

Hello I have to disagree with the ladies on this post.I have been selling Avon for 5 years and I have made President's Club 3 times and Honor Society 1 of those times. What you must do is promote yourself and your business.I sell about $1200.00 a campaign.So my earnings will be 45%.You can do it .It does not happen over night.People tend to think they can start selling Avon and walaa they are making loads of money in their first few campaigns.You have to build it up.With any business that you invest in, you have to have supplies.So yes you have to buy your bags usually 50 for 85 cents,your samples, and your brochures. The manager does not get any money off of you but she does need to have a certain quota for her district.

You have to pace yourself buy yourself one think per campaign.Some people skip a campign I.spend $3.00 in samples and I do not go over that.That way I can actually see the money that I am making in my hands.I have a website that is good for me. www.youravon.com/tcelestaine

It really is a fun business and you can make good money doing it.Right now I need $ 5,345 to get in Honor Society.You sell $20,200 to get to this level.Ihave about 2 months to do this.I will rely on God to help me.I just thought you should know and I wanted to say it without offending anyone.Take care and may God bless.
