driving ban
If you are banned from driving do you automatically have to retake your driving test, or does it depend on how long you are banned for.

It depends on points not necessarily a ban, but if a ban has been issued you will have probably been given more than six points.
After two years you may be banned for a certain period then your licence is returned unless the endorsement reads "banned until a driving test has been passed" or "until a extended driving test has been passed"
