Adobe Indesign Cs6 Text Issue
4 Answers
open a brand new document A4
draw a text box (Object Styles = basic text frame)
box fill = [Paper] white
no stroke
fill with placeholder text > calibri 10pt - colour black
so far so good (done this a gazillion times all sorts of documents...now comes the problem
Draw another text box - select text box > Object > Effects > Drop Shadow
this is to add drop shadow to the box not the text in the box
as soon as the Drop Shadow options box opens the text in the first text box (or any other text boxes for that matter it turns out )changes to a bolder than normal bold, like double bold ! (the font options dialogue doesnt show any change)
anybody know whats going on, i've wasted all morning trying to sort this out but got absolutely nowhere, tried all sorts of tests but zilch, nada, even deleted the prefs/defaults file, so it creates a new one on startup, made no difference

Can't remember off hand what its called, but there is an option in the preferences to stop text linking itself to a box or frame.
If I'm on computer later, I'll take a look at the preferences....

Have done with and without colour fills, makes no difference.
Have got all transparency layers at the bottom of the pack and text on top layer.
Have heard mutterings that there is a known issue with transparency and drop shadow that affects some people but no know fix.
Starting to think I may have this problem
