The .... a magazine co-edited by jerome K jerome from 1892 5 letters. I have found a result as The Idler, but this does not fit in with 40 across which is Ronnie I have I*I*R

What's the clue for 40a which gives you 'Ronnie'?

Thanks a lot. The clue for 40a was Reginald Kray's twin brother. I put in Ronnie instead of Ronald.

I was confirming that others had come up with IDLER so maybe your Ronnie was wrong.
The search box is very good though- I typed in Jerome and found several threads for this clue within a few seconds not hours
