Whilst I've been doing my chores this morning, I've been listening to a CD my bro-in-law copied for me in '04 called 'Songbirds of Britain & Europe'.

It is so nice to get away from all the doom & gloom elsewhere & listening to all the different varieties of birds, makes it seem like a Summer's day.

I know I could open all the windows & listen to all the birds in our garden, but it's too cold as yet.

Are there any other Songbird CD's you could recommend please? Back to my chores!

P.S. I've looked at this website www.wildsong.co.uk which was on the CD cover, but just wondered if anyone had bought & could recommend any other ones - thanks.

Hi smudge!

There's nothing like the song of birds to lift the spirits is there? On Saturday the sun was shining and walking in the country you could imagine it was spring with everyone opening their little beaks at full throttle!

Now, I have a whole library of tapes and CD's but I have the feeling you may want a selection of birds singing for ambience and not for identification purposes. Would this be right?

Thank you Cetti - you're right - there's nothing like birdsong to lighten your heart & mood!

We have many bird books for identification purposes & always keep the most informative one at the ready!

It is actually ambience CD's I'm after, only I've been playing the only one I've got, over & over this morning - when it stops, it's like the light's gone out!

Glad you had a lovely time on Saturday - we must go into the woods again soon for the same reason!

Thanks again.

Yes, I thought that would be the case, however I have found a couple of ambient CD's that might be exactly what you're after.

On this website http://digbig.com/4ggqx there is a CD of the Dawn Chorus 9.95 with the birdies from the woodland areas of Dartmoor, New Forest and Sussex.

If you feel like something a little more exotic then there's a CD called Rainforest Requiem from the Amazon. You can listen to a clip from both of these. See what you think.

Whoops! Bad link, try again.

Morning Cetti - sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday - busy, busy, bee!

Thank you so much for posting that info/link - although I had no trouble listening to clips on my www.wildsong.co.uk link, I couldn't do the same with your one, as I have to dowload a different player to the one I have. I will try again though.

Thanks again & have a lovely day!
