i love my samsung, so that's my vote. hate apple so that's not my vote. had HTC wildfire before and no problems with it at all but prefer the samsungs :-)

I've heard the IPhone is really slow compared to other smart phones. I've got a HTC which is ok though I do miss some of the iPhone functions (had a 3G before). I can't remember why I chose the HTC over the Samsung, something to do with the camera maybe.

The HTC & Samsung run Android - a Google product. It's perfectly good, but you might find app inconsistencies annoying.

If you're a technophobe I cannot recommend the iPhone highly enough - it's limited enough in certain ways for you to avoid destroying it/yourself/your reputation.

Thank you all - sounds like the Samsung is the most popular choice. But yes, need to go and have a play around with them all.

Think it will be a shock moving from a Blackberry!

Samsung runs on Google's Android but there are problems between the two companies. Samsung get Android virtually free and make all the money, while Google develop it but make nothing from it. Google have slowed development of the OS and are dropping Android from there own marketing. The Android App store is now Google Play and they have dropped Android from their latest Google TV offering. Meanwhile, Samsung have developed their own phone OS, Tizen.

Which means you should be wary of investing in a phone and content if upheaval is imminent. You don't want to buy a load of Android apps and then Samsung drop Android (or Google drop Samsung).

I'm in exactly the same postion - I should have upgraded last November but just cannot decide
I think I am verying towards the iphone as I have one at the moment and one son always says there must be a reason why the iphone is the best seller

If you're a technophobe why would you want a high tech phone?

I love my 6 year old phone as it does all I need, can be used for calls, texts, and take photos............what else would one need?

i have a motorola razr i it is amazing , i had a htc before the motorola is far superior. I wouldnt have an i phone given to me !

Just upgraded to a samsung s4 and I couldnt be happier, I have had a blackberry for the last 8-10 years and decided on a change and im so glad i did

S4 gets my vote
