You need to ask for a spot rate, it's usually given for a 30 second ad, and it's usually given at 'rate card' (the ideal spot rate for that station). However, depending how long the campaign is, how many ads per day, etc, the spot rate can work out lower. However, most stations should recommend at least a 4-6 weeks minimum to see results on your campaign, and a minimum of 4 ads a day, preferably more, if you want to see a result.
If the sales exec is worth their salt, they should be able to recommend a campaign suitable to your needs, and aiming at the maximum potential audience for your particular market.
and don't forget, you would need to get ad(s) made too, so you should find out how much commercial production would be.
