My sons wife left him 4 years ago and now she is trying to get him out of the marital home and my grandson can she do this?

Probably not, particularly if a child is living with your son in the marital home.

Do they both own the house?

At 24 your Grandson is, of course, an adult. Though it is still doubtful your son will have to move out, hopefully he has contributed to the general outgoings of the property, perhaps not directly but in general and if he had not would your Daughter in law have been able to remain in the property. It can be a very slow process with many opportunities for your son to make the points he believes are important.
Southern Ireland is not part of the UK and laws are different I do not know if many on AB know enough to comment.
