grind exceeding slow.
Further to my incontinence pad rant on 25th July you won't be surprised to hear that the Poo Panel has yet to decide whether or not my ninety year old, dementia suffering, bedridden, and doubly incontinent mother can be prescribed the large size incontinence pads.
Yes, I can continue to buy them, and will, but this is a problem the home is having with such requests for other residents and they are at their wit's end with all the red tape. Pads should be supplied in the Care Package but the panel dictates the size and quantity and if someone has no family to help......?
So I offered to take on the Poo Panel on behalf of my mother and other residents....the staff seemed delighted that someone else was going to argue the case too.
So....any help or experience you have in this area is welcome.....
I will contact the GP and district nurse too....but they seem tethered by this panel of......... well.....Poo and Wee Inspectors?

Thanks Jeza...but you have the same role too....caring for Mic...and of course we do it...why wouldn't we?
It's the dealing with red tape that gets us down..well til Monday anyway. ☻
Go get 'em gness.
Question Author
I will Daisy...and as I now have to be up early I'll be as cranky as a roused bear....x
I never knew this panel existed. Unbelievable that you have to fight for such basic provisions.
Question Author
Neither did I, Clover.....til the district nurse explained it to me. Even then I thought it was a bit of a joke...not so.
Gness you do realise you can get vat off the pads, I don't know if you know or not. We get I think, will check on monday 8 packs of 14 pull ups for around 100/ 110 quid, but if you were to put inserts in there like maxi sanitary towels, they do last longer, we change the incontenance service maxi nsert pads every 2 to three hours and our pull ups am, 3pm and 9 at night, I like to think we are hygenic, hope you think the same, x
Question Author
Thanks, Josephine...didn't know that. My brother stocked up today and I will see what Monday brings....Gx
Why is it that the worse our mums treat us, the more we strive to help them in their later years. Been where you are twice Gness, and about to be there again fairly soon.
Best wishes to you.

And to you, Ferlew...x

Question Author
I don't know, Tony.....not a position I have seen advertised.
Just wondered if you got invited or had to be elected.

This is it, Methyl...at ninety and in her state she needs to be comfortable for the last few months.
She has a prescription for the pads...the small ones which are now not enough. It's trying to get them to agree to the prescription for the larger ones that is causing all this grief.
But I will chat to the doctor after what you have said and see if there is a way he can bypass this system....I will still fight it though....thank you.
