my friend is writing a book at the moment and needs a bit of help.

if there are any solicitors out there can you give me information of your first day in your job.

ie: what people acted like towards you, what you were shown, what you were asked to do if anything.

any help will be greatly recieved

Where can I start? After going through this process several times there is no simple answer except to say that be open minded and understand your employer. I have had some good experiences and some bad, the more established and well known companies usually will offer good practical advice and use the 'buddy system' so you are not left out, others though will rely on your input - beware, they are after your brains and probably don't know much themselves, it all really depends on your experience, it can be really frustrating and depressing but try to be optimistic and you can't really go far wrong.
