Hi

i have a brand new computer that i had a friend make for me. it had old software installed so i did a full re install with XP. everything is fine apart from the fact that the computer does not see the second hard drive.

I had it made with a second hard drive to back up work and as a virus protector so i would not lose any work.

what can i do

Many thanks

Ask your friend to do the job properly.

Check the cabling to the second drive, and check the jumper on the drive is in the right position...slave, cable select or master. Most new computers will be fine with cable select.

check your bios settings too. if bios doesnt read your 2nd drive it will not power it up so windows will not see it.
You might need to go into Disc manager to configure and letter the second drive...............
