A terminally ill Aunt got sick of people saying "How are you"....... she'd reply "dyeing".......
I would ask "How are you today".......... She loved that. When I left I'd say "I hope you have many more"......... That also went down well.
Yes, and offer support to her family too, especially if she has children. I have a friend with only weeks left and she is most worried about how her children will cope. I've told her they are welcome round ours any time and she knows i mean it. She said that was a huge relief.
my son's beagle has just had 5 puppies.
Out of the blue, a lady phoned to say she owned a beagle but had never handled a pup.
She is terminally ill but would love to come and cuddle the pups.
Come by all means, my son and his wife said - and the lady came and was able to fulfil a great wish.
Not a reply to your post but thought you would appreciate this touching true story
Maybe write about good times you've had with her and thank her for being such a helpful supportive friend. I did this for my friend and reminded her of the excitement in our house when "Auntie - " was coming. I should like to think I had been appreciated if I was in that situation.
