Hypo, I saw both programs when they aired. Weren't they brilliant!
I couldn't believe some of the things I was hearing. The guy who's worked for Weight Watchers for god knows how many years, saying they don't want it to work for people (that's pretty much what he said) so they keep coming back.
The introduction of corn syrup in the 70s was interesting too.
Both programs were extremely interesting and, I should imagine, a bit of an eye-opener for a huge amount of people.
With regards to a wheat/gluten free diet, I am amazed at the difference it's made. My IBS symptoms have piratically disappeared overnight, my heartburn is hardly noticeable (which was a *big* problem for me) and I no longer feel sluggish in the mornings or require 3 shots of espresso to wake me up! :)
The weight loss is just a little bonus. I decided to cut wheat out after reading a book (Wheat Belly) and, although I've only been doing it for a few weeks, it's much such a difference.
Thanks to Paddywak too :)
