Baza is off to Newbury tomorrow and would appreciate some tips. I've suggested following Johnny Murtagh and Pat Smullen and maybe Hayley Moore in the last race.

Is Baza experienced in racegoing? If anyone is, then buying Timeform at the course is worthwhile. But you definitely need to be able to read the messages which are contained in the text. For example, Timeform doesn't ever say the libellous "We think this gelding in this handicap was hooked [was deliberately run without trying] last time out" but you may note that it finished strongly/ was hampered last time, and ran below expectations.
And you get clues for young horses, two year-olds, on testing tracks; it's a fair bet that one whose relations and immediate ancestors performed well over 10 or 12 furlongs or will run more easily over 7 furlongs than rivals who seem bred for 6 or 7 furlongs.
But ask why it solemnly tells you that a filly is a third or fourth foal, search me! If she's a first foal it makes some sense, but third or fourth, unless that's to tell you that she's not the first.
