Old TV Series

When I was little I used to sneakily watch tv late in my bedroom. I remember watching Love Hurts with Adam Faith and then I would turn it over and watch a programme where all I can remember is at the start it was in black and white and had a little boy in a cowboy outfit watching a tiny 60's tv set while sitting on the floor. This was supposed to be the main character when he was little. Can anyone help me on the name of it??

I also remember it was quite risque for US TV!!

Holbeckian......I remember it being a bit risque too. I used to turn over to curiously watch some realatively graphic sex scenes and I was probably in my 11 or 12 so quite exciting to me.
