Millionth Site Visitor

I was getting numerous pop ups stating that I am the 1 or 10 millionth visitor to a site. Has anybody followed up on one of these, and if so, what is the result ?

I think it is the same as getting junk mail at home. I have always been chosen to win a fortune. I am so lucky that I could have had a field full of cars. Banks would be so full of my money that they would have to open more branches, just for me. Why dont I have all this? I bin them. I suggest that you delete the pop ups.

The result would be that they have your e-mail address, and the spam floodgates would open. You know what they say - if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!

If you followed it up it would end up with it costing you money. That is the bottom line. When the phone rings and you are told by a double glazing co. that you have won a holiday, you must know that there is a catch in it. The end result, it costs you.

Well, it's slightly different, but I got a text on my phone stating that I had won the 400pound prize with a number to call. I knew what the 'prize' would be, but I thought I'd ring anyway to confirm my doubts. Sure enough, after spending about 8 mins on the phone at a cost of around 3 pounds I was directed to a website for the prize. Yes, it was 400 pounds discount if I booked a holiday, paid for the meals, etcetera...
