when we open the door the interior light doesn't come on. the bulb is working when it is set in the 'reading lamp' position so we know its not the fuse or the bulb. we can't find a door switch to see if thats the problem. can anyone advise?

Think your probably right about a faulty switch. You don't have to go to a main dealership though !.

See if there is a plunger type switch on the door aperture, check to see if that is working. Does this happen on both the doors ?.
Question Author
yes, it only works on the reading position. we had a look for the door switch last night but couldn't see one anywhere :(
Have you checked to see if there is a blown fuse ?, however 2012 car should still be under warranty.
Question Author
got all the fuses check last night. our dealership says it can't say if warranty will cover it unless they look at. it will cost me in the region of £60-£80 if not covered by warranty for them to fix it. bit depressing if its something we can do ourselves . we are swaying towards a faulty switch by dealership still charge just to look at it :(

Arev you sure the switch is set correctly? There are 3 positions ON, OFF and doors.
Question Author
