To explain it, the: the next statement is a question, not a statement, so there is no logical reason for you to reply. A machine will probably try to find a reason to reply, and then, make its reply. I am not an answer machine, or my programmer was either a genius, or an ordinary person of no particular sense.

Keith......I am genuinely wishing to be helpful to all members of AB (if that is possible) and have noted that you are a new member and, as such, I welcome you with a sincere hope that you enjoy a great site as much as I do.

You may find it worthwhile posting in the 'Chatterbank' section on this site, to see what responses you get. I have often seen postings along the lines of "Anyone there ready for a chat." or "What are you doing at this very moment."
