Chipped Crystal

I've got some (used to be) gorgeous crystal champagne flutes. They've got rather chipped ver the ears. Is it possible to repair them?

you can buy a file to smooth off chips but you can't add bits of glass back.

if they have a deep enough rim they could be ground down past the chips but its risky... I'd probably fill them with coloured glass chips and display them where they catch the light rather than drink from them
