I meet my friend on a Tuesday,she gets the buttered rolls and I get the sandwich stuff,i have a pack of salami but wasn't sure what to put on it,i have whole grain mustard but no gherkins or tomatoes,i have pickled onions though..

I'd go for griddled ciabatta drizzled with olive oil filled with rocket, roasted red peppers, provolone, the salami and a touch of basil pesto.

Slice an onion and soak the rounds in malt vinegar overnight.
Can't have a beef or salami sarnie without it.
