Hi, hope someone can help me. I play bass in a pretty good indie rock band who have just been signed, and i've decided to buy a new guitar. Ive seen hundreds of basses in the shops and none have caught my eye. Can anybody suggest a good sounding and looking bass for under 1000 pounds? Right now i play and Ibanez EDB 600, but im more into the look of fender precisions and music man stingrays, etc.

Any help welcomed, thanks.

What about the Fender Jazz - a good workmanlike instrument, does the job, classic lines.

You really can't go wrong with a Fender Jazz or Precision, and a decent second hand one will be far better than a new other brand.

That said, a decent Aria Pro 11, like the Integra, has a really decent rock sound too, at a fraction of the price.

for what it's worth, i worked in guitar shops fo a fair while, still teach and play guitar and bass, and i never played a bass as nice as the music man.

The first bass guitar ever was the Fender Precision. The first and the best!
