Hi
Have a 4Gb dongle with umpteen music tracks on it, but when I copied them onto the dongle, it listed them in "track number" order i.e. first are those with No 1 and then those with number 2 etc., (if you can understand my dialogue !!). I would like to renumber them all, starting with number 1 and finishing with number 327 (or however many tracks there are). Is there a quick way of doing this ? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean rename the files ?

There are a number of applications out there that give you that option. But if you search the related questions you may find one of the times someone has described how you can get Windows explorer to do this for you. I know it has been mentioned in the past, but I don't recall the details.

That said from your description you seem to want to rename number 1, number 1, and number 2, number 2, which seems not to be right ?!?

Highlight all the files and then right click on the very first one.
Select rename and give it a text name e.g. Track.
Press return and files will be renamed in the format Track (1), Track (2) etc.
