faulty power supply ?

At home the table lamp flickered,it was an energy saving lamp, it then went very dim. Upstairs an energy saving lamp has blown.Also the computer is not working.Been on the phone to electric company no fault has been reported. Any ideas as to what has happened. Thanks

check the fuse in the plug for the computer. if it's blown i would suggest getting a power surge protecting extension lead to run the p.c. and ancillaries.
