I received my new HP book, and to my surprise, it was bound upside down (and backwards!)

I went to the store and could not find another copy bound this way. Has anyone else reported this problem?

Very odd....SELL IT! Lol, when they make a Harry Potter they'll be calling you frst for the "First Reported Book to ever be Upsidedown and Backwards." But your probably the 24356th to ever get a book like that. GJ!

This is going to sound like I think you're stupid, but when I worked in a bookshop, this happened from time to time. Most of the time it was not incorrectly printed, it was that the dust jacket had been put on "upside down". Are you sure this isn't what has happened with your book?
save it and take it to antiques roadshow in 30 years time.  It may be worth a fortune by then.

This is for LeMarchand:

Of course I checked the dust cover! It was the first thing I did. I also worked in a bookstore.

buy another one to read, and save the backwards one until it's REALLY worth something in like ages... lol

keep it safe and don't let it get damaged

Methinks brewcrew has been pulling out Mandrakes, without ear protectors!?

i have the same thing brewcrew.  we purchased our book and i had to inspect it twice to belive it.  its not the book jacket that is backwards, its actually bound unside down.  i would like to know if it would be worth anything and how many others have one like that.

I work at a best buy and we recieced about 10 cases and in those ten cases we had four backwards copys of harry potter. Your damn right i bought them. i think they are worth money. I am also curious how many are that way.
I also bought a copy, and found that it was bound upside down.  I planned on saving it and buying another to copy to read - but I just couldn't put it down.

This thread is probably long dead, but like Lemarchand I used to work in a bookshop, and we did get copies of books that were like that, once we got a book back, because 20 of the pages were in Spanish...

Wether or not the copies of the "upside down" HP is anything worth, wouldn't that depend on how many copies are upside down, and how many people keep it because they think it'll be worth something? Anyway I would save it too. You never know...

I also have a copy that's upside down and backwards it's sort of neat cause to any one else it looks like your reading the book upside down.
I also got a backwards book at the Virgin Mega store in Vancouver  BC. I went out and bought another copy just in case. Hey maybe that's what they wanted me todo, put out a few backwards books so poeple would buy a second copy

I to have a Potter book that was inserted into the binding upside down. The dust cover was fine as far as lining up with the cover, but surprise, the back was up front upside down.

Kind of cool
