Does anyone know if there's a cut off point when getting a passport?
Someone told us after 75 yrs of age one doesn't pay a fee, like a TV licence I suppose. My bro is 78 & wants to go to France to see the war graves but his passport has run out & to pay £70 for a new one just for a day is a bit OTT.
Look through here, Jem. I've never heard of it being free, but I suppose it's not something I've had to pay much attention to

That date of birth of 1929 hasn't changed since the scheme came in, and is unlikely to. It was intended (rather arbitrarily) for those affected as adults or near adults by WW2
