AA boxes. Remaining sites

I have learnt that the AA is to close it's roadside telephones. Does anyone know where the old style AA wooden boxes are located? Some,if not all of these are subject to preservation orders' There used to be one on the Kirkstone pass in the Lake District and I recall seeing one in the Exmoor forest on the road between Minehead and Ilfracombe just to the north of Porlock Hill. Is this still there ?

There is still one on the ?A40 between Brecon and Abergavenny opposite the Nantyffin Cider Mill.

Sad to see them go but such is progress and the use of mobiles

Good old Mr, Wilson (do you remember that catchphrase from Dennis the menace ,American style?) It would seem that those boxes (minus real telephones) that have survived are situated in National parks. Any others folks?

There's one on the A3052 nr Exeter,Devon.Well it was still there last year anyway :-)

AA Box number 530 is on the north side of the A149 just east of Brancaster.

AA Box 472 at The Cambus O'May, Nr Ballater, Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland has just been refurbished (July 09) by five local Ballater residents in their own time and expense.

There is one at Devils Bridge near Road Junction, one in Birkenhead Tram Museum and one in Village car Park at Eardisland Herefordshire. I am trying to locate one that was at Brandiston Norfolk (no longer in village)
