NOKIA batteries

I have a Nokia 6630 which I have not yet used. I have put the battery in and then gone to use it, and it is dead- it won't even switch on. I took it back to the shop and they gave me another battery. The same thing has happened to this one!! Is it my fault for leaving a battery in a phone, switched off? Will this corrupt the battery? Or is there a fault with the phone or the batteries?

Are you saying that you just put the battery in and immediately started using the phone?

The battery should be charged for a number of hours before use - check the instruction manual

Normally if the battery is new/dead you plug it in and the scrolling sign starts. You know it is charging up. This does absolutely nothing when I plug it in.

I will plug it in anyway and see what happens.

yes if it happened twice i'd say its the charger. although could it be the socket you plug it into? if its on an adapter or extension lead it may be that. extension leads can have one socket not work when the rest do.

I recently bought a Nokia N70 and had the same problem. Turned out to be the battery. Managed to sort it after my 3rd visit to the shop
