Mobile Replacement

Please can you help? I'm not very technical.
my Nokia 800 is not charging properly. I have also dropped it today and smashed the screen. I can't get upgrade for another 14 months and they have quoted £150 to replace the screen.
I can't be without a phone while it's sent off and need to also keep the same number, as use it for work as well. It has a microsim.
I'm thinking it is probably easier just to buy new phone, for under £200 and just put the sim into the new one.
Do you think that's the best way forward, and which phones would accept the same sim?
Thank you x

do you have it insured?
You could get the screen replaced cheaper, look around. If its not charging properly was that before you dropped it or after? If its before then i would get the screen replaced then argue with the phone company to provide a new handset as the one you are using isn't working properly,
and finally have you checked the battery?

Thanks both. It's not insured, as I did have insurance with a previous phone, but still had to go without a phone while they sent it off, so wasn't much help.
It's not been charging for about a week now. Takes forever and loses charge quickly (I did have the phone replaced a couple of weeks after I got it, as not holding charge). Unfortunately, the battery is sealed in, so can't remove it.
I'll have a look at that link now. Thank you.
