Has anyone else been plagued with spiders this year. We have always had quite a lot in this house but nothing like we are getting at the moment. I seem to spend hours with a cobweb brush trying to keep them at bay. I'm not scared of spiders but am getting fed up with cobwebs.

We've had a few really big ones! I bought some spider repellent. Hope it works. I really don't like spiders - but I know my fear is irrational.
We've had a couple of massive spiders the last couple of weeks. I really can't stand them. Conkers and horse chestnut are supposed to keep them out, but haven't tried them myself. Yet.
That is why we keep cats! Spiders reckless enough to enter my house seldom survive!
Spiders keep the flies away. Or eat them. Either will do.
It's daddy longlegs season now !.
Oh bugger, chilli. Will have to think of something else!
LOl, I have a spider in my sitting room that when I catch the little bugger he will barely fit in my hand. I have seen him, then the other evening when I was upstairs, my step daughter and my OH were wailing and squawking and I knew then they had seen him too ! He is a very quick spider, if I get him a will post a picture...with a warning !
I don't mind spiders, It's the bloody Daddy-Long-Legs who want to drink and swim in my B&C that I don't like.
In September spiders are more in evidence because they are all searching for mates; there aren't more in numbers, it's just that those you have, are more out and about than they are throughout the rest of the year.- It's the mating season!
Do spiders have an equivalent to St. Valentine's Day?
I hate them I've tried telling myself they are good for the house but I really can't be in the same room as one.

I have seen a few critters this year that are the things of nightmares but thankfully I have someone here to take care of them :)
You are not alone, puddle-duck. Son bought a flat some years ago and moved out of home. Three hours later I had a phone call. "There's a spider in the bath. Please come.."
LOL Daisy If any of my kids asked for help with a spider they are on their own :)
My daughters boyfriend is living with us & he takes care of the critters, the rest of us cower in fear.
Yup! It took a whole half a can of furniture polish to disable one this afternoon!!

Urgh. Hate them!

A spider was eaten here tonight. Don't know which cat ate it ..
Very tasty I believe, for cats!
