On a slightly different but related subject, there was once a poll in a Quantum Physics lecture about which interpretation the scientist present preferred: "Many Worlds", or the so-called "Copenhagen Interpretation", or something else? The differences are very technical though I'd love to talk about them (please please ask about it in Science some time!). Anyway, the point is that at one of these polls, someone asked the question: "And who here believes the laws of physics are decided by a democratic vote?"
The same applies here: Astrology, or anything else, isn't made any more plausible because people believe in it. It's total and utter nonsense from start to finish. Any matches are either coincidental, or confirmation biases, or some sort of working backwards from personality to date and then pretending that it's OK to move forwards again. It's already received far more attention than it deserves.
