Morning all

A Doc today so it should be at the more gentle end of things.

Enjoy.

Cheers Daniel. I wonder if it's got something to do with Dumpynose's theme last week and maybe his record at the Speccie. We will see...!
Thanks Daniel

It was useful having them all grouped together in Brewer.
Thanks Daniel
Yes a relatively easy one today, although made early mistake with 18d which derailed me for a while. Expected the Brontes to be in there but no.
Thanks again Daniel.
Not difficult, even without having a Brewer, but since I don't have one, is the title the only link between the unclued lights? If so, must be a very long list.
No, it's only a couple of pages - the literary ones are on another page under nom de plume
Sorry Roslyn but I'm missing something here - there are hundreds of pages of stage names on wikipedia, how come only two in Brewer? I must buy this book.
Good deals on Amazon for used 18th edition.
I think i only use mine (same as above) for the Speccie!
Did anyone object to the spelling of 25D?
It should have a Y. Haven't found an alternate in any dictionary so far.
I agree, AZ. As far as I can check, there is no accepted variant spelling with 'i' substituted for 'y'. Faulty clue, Doc, I fear.
AZ, 'cist' is in Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary - the 1913 edition. I don't have a copy myself, but maybe Doc (this week's setter) does?
Thank you. Suspected as much. That's the source for weird spellings.
Still not happy with it, though.
