I love gigging, I went to see a band on wednesday, the music was ggod but the venue was horrendous!!! I stuck to the floor in there but thats what you get for living in the west country.

I have so many I could choose from but I think Glastonbury 2000 wrapping up the weekend with Bowie had to do it for me.

Faithless and Starsailor have never failed me yet either.

nope.....started that very year with Soull Asylum and Pearl Jam, quite removed fronm Prince, though I expect that was pretty fantastic.

Probably The Mission supported by All About Eve in 1999 at Nottingham Rock City. My favourite band is AAE but The Mission are always fantastic live!

The Sisters Of Mercy supporting Depeche Mode at Crystal Palace in 1993 was pretty good too. DM were great.

I recently saw Paul Weller here in Munich (Dec 2005) and although I'm not a great fan it was one of the best gigs ever.

saw the cure at glastonbury in the early 80's when there was a real thunder and lightening storm during their set, perfect!
u2 always do a great show, but always seem even better in dublin.
coldplay at crystal palace last year were fab, even though i'm not a great fan.

Donington Monsters Of Rock when Metallica headlined!!! It was the nuts!!!!! I still get a shiver down my spine when i hear One!

Now that my own question has been answered thanks to Play-it-cool I can answer your's. It was a hot Sunny Sunday afternoon on 7th July 1985 at Roundhay Park in Leeds, where for nearly 4 hours Bruce Springsteen rocked the place, while me, my mates & the rest of the great crowd either lounged & listened & drank & ate picnic in the hot sunday sun or rocked away, it was just a perfect day.

It�s funny, but despite having seen big stadium gigs by the likes of the Rolling Stones or Simple Minds and medium sized arena gigs by countless other bands the gigs I think of with the most fondness are the smaller ones in pubs that are so intimate. Harvey Andrews at the Trafalgar in Hednesford (c. 1991) was a milestone in my life, the point at which I decided to like music for what it was rather than trying to be cool and liking what I thought I should like. Of the larger, louder gigs, the Chameleons comeback gig at Manchester Academy (2000ish?) was hard to beat on atmosphere.
