Mm Links Results September 2013 Week 1

'Joan the Wad', Queen of the Pixies set you all a very tough first round of challenges.

Before I reveal her links, I must warn you that these are not what they at first may seem.
I would not have allowed this as any setter's proposed challenge as all four links should be different BUT: See Below.

The links that earned you points were the following:
CARE WORK/WORKER
FRAME WORK
HOME WORK
SENIOR SCHOOL

Those of you who have been setters before will know that the setter provides 4 preferred links and four more possibilites for each in descending order of preference.
If a first choice is not guessed then the second choice is promoted into scoring position . . . and so on.
This week, Work was first choice for one challenge, 2nd choice for another and 4th choice for a third.
It just so happened that none of the higher ranked links were suggested, resulting in three of the scoring links being the same!

Details of the points awarded follow:

Middlestump and Brenden kicked off with 2 points each for FRAME WORK

They were closely followed by kawakiri collecting 2 points for CARE WORKER

Apart from a single point picked up by beejay1124, that was all until 5pm when SHAZZA remembers she had HOME WORK to do (2 points)

Sunday came along - and almost went, but at 4pm and just before the closing bell, twix123 found the final link of SENIOR SCHOOL (2 points)

BUT. . .
Cutting it even finer, with just 18 minutes to spare, along comes Kettledrum with the complete WORKS for 3 points - CARE WORKER, FRAME WORK AND HOME WORK

So for that feat, as a triple-hitter - indeed, as the only multiple hitter, I am choosing kettledrum as hotshot.

How can we get the points flowing like confetti?

Wow! I can't believe it! Thanks Gen2. Not only have you awarded me Hotshot of the week, but I think I might even be in the lead! Now that has NEVER happened to me before ... As a founder member of the Free Fall Club and its most frequent visitor, I'm finding myself way out of my comfort zone!

And thanks too to the Pixie Queen. It's interesting to see what your original choices were, & to speculate on why perfectly 'normal' phrases (special care & home stretch) were not chosen by anyone.
