E-Bay - New Fees
51 Answers
Those of you who sell on eBay - did you see this announcement a couple of days ago?
Final value fees change for all private sellers
Final value fees will be charged based on the combined value of the item listed plus postage. For example, if an item sells for £20 with postage cost of £4, the final value fee will be charged based on the combined value of £24. This will not apply if the listing offers collection only.
This is a swizz - we can't help how much postage is - why should we pay fees on top as well?

I've put this on the eBay FB page
"I'd really like a sensible answer - not just the "reading an official statement" answers I've had so far - about the new fees eBay are charging private sellers, which includes a fee on the P&P element of the final selling price, over which the seller has no control at all - we pay what we have to pay to our despatching agent, it's totally unreasonable to ask us to pay a fee on that element as well. In effect, we don't get our full P&P because eBay is taking a chunk of it. Comments, please?"
stand back.... and await either a response, or none.

Eddie, not sure about that - I've just looked on the FAQs in Customer Support under "what is an FVF" and it says
"The final value fee is based on the item's total cost to the buyer which includes item price, postage costs, and any other fees the seller may charge."
I've not sold anything in a couple of weeks so can't tell if it's being charged.
