Shed Base
My husband has ordered an 8ft x 8ft wooden shed. He needs to make a concrete base in the garden but has been given conflicting information as to what size the base should be. Any advice would be most welcome.

Exactly the same size as the shed Missy, or even slightly smaller. Rainwater can run off the sides of the shed without collecting underneath. Either drill and bolt down afterwards, or cast some bolts (or threaded rod) into the concrete, ready for bolting down.

Why don't you just lay concrete fence posts down - that's what the firm that erected my shed did ??
They laid a few post lengthways, then laid a few posts on top of these at 90 degrees and the shed just sits on these posts - no need to mess around with concrete.
My shed is 8 ft x 5 ft (or maybe 6ft); it's been up approx 5 years and we haven't had any problems with it yet .........
