i had an endowment mortgage for 15 years, when we sold our flat we cancelled the policy and moved away. are we entitled to get any of the money back that we paid into it?

Well, not sure because obviously time has gone by. Ive just cancelled mine but cashed it in and got the value paid into my account. Why were you not offered the cash in value instead of just cancelling?? Hopefully someone will come along with a similar situation and a better answer!!

Did you pay off the original mortgage? Did you transfer endowment to new mortgage?

When did you cancel the endowment?

At the very least you need to get in touch with the endowment company. Hopefully it will have been earning interest and should have some value.

I recently surrendered my 15 year old endowment, which had another 7 years to run, and received �33,000 which was a good return on the money paid in.
