Well, happy to report a fine time was had by all. Entertaining company, good food all made for a very pleasant afternoon. Special thanks go to Slinky Kate's son who made it possible for her and Alba to join us. Sadly, Minty and Voddie were unable to be there owing to an argument with a garden fork (which she lost) and having to step into the breach in an emergency ( a good friend) DT, thanks for the flowers they are beautiful, will try to deliver Minty's as soon as possible.
The only thing left to say about it is when can we do it again? Hopefully, we can find more members of the Scottish AB members to join us, of course any ABer who happens to be in the area we'd love to see you at the next meeting of the McMafia
Glad to hear you had a good time. I think it's lovely that people actually do meet up. If ever one happened near me I would love to go but unfortunately because of my mobility problems couldn't travel far. Anyone fancy a day out in Hastings?
I love Hastings! Haven't been down there for a while, Queenie keeps dropping hints that we should go back down there for a break. When she was small we used to holiday down there, staying in Rye and spending time all around that coast - promise to arrange something if we are down there again. Daisy is in W. Sussex and I think Baldric is near Dover, reckon you should be able to sort something out.
The White Cliffs Experience hasn't been there for - oh - 15 years now.... it was all taken to bits, the library and the local theatre are in that building now. The bronze age boat in the museum's worth a look, and I know the guy who does the tours of the Western Heights (now there's a thought!)
Actually, there was so much going on I totally forgot about you, FGT, sorry.
In addition to the McMafia thing I've been tied up getting things organised so that my mother who has dementia can stay at home and receive extra care. The McMafia thing was a little light relief, and you weren't the only one who was left out, hopefully it will be rectified at a future meeting, as the business for my mum is finally getting sorted and I can have my life back again.
Oh Boxy! She is stung! She loved that place. Mnd you she was 9 the last time we were down there, we though that by 10 she would be civilised enough to take on an aeroplane and so we started going abroad for holidays. Shame really, I quite enjoyed the WCE too
If you are ever up this way when we organised the next one you'd be welcome Ann. I just have to keep on top of the next one, I was brow beat into by Queenie, she and someone else were supposed to have had it all organised for sometime in the summer, then when it didn't happen she nagged me into it. Worth it in the end though
