One to talk about, favourite vocalists in a band. Not made up boy bands but the real stuff.

I go for Steve Marriott, (Small Faces, Packet of Three)

Glenn Matlock ( Squeeze and solo)

Andy Fairweather Lowe ( Amen Corner, Fairweather)

And as a female entrant, I'd go for Christine Mc Vie. Who I used to watch her when I was as a sweet little 16 year old when she was in Chicken Shack as Christine Perfect.........anyone remember them?

I'm 53 ...............forgive the senility

I'll add Phil Collins to that list as well. Got Genesis on tonight........Arm wrestle anyone?
surely it has to be Freddie from Queen. There really is no debate.
I presume you mean Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze, rather than Glen Matlock, the original bassist with The Sex Pistols :-)

I'd have to agree with Ward-Minter about Freddie Mercury - the consummate showman with a fantastic vocal range. Of the ladies, it's a little trickier as most of the great female vocalists (IMO) have tended to be solo artists rather than band members, but perhaps Annie Lennox of Eurythmics.
Steve Marriott was great but I have to agree with the others...Freddie was out on his own...I do like however the guy from the Zombies who sang..she's not there.

Freddie from Queen, Crispian from KulaShaker, Rod Stewart (Faces, Python Lee Jackson).

Peter Gabriel. Freddie, of course. Ian Gillan.

For a female entrant.. can Kate Bush count? Not in a band, but soooo so good. A crime not to mention her!

robert plant, roger daltrey, jess roden, paul rogers, john lennon, cliff bennett, eric burdon, steve marriot, mick jagger (pre 1971) to name a few.colin blunstone sang *she's not there* for the zombies.

i think i have just shown my age.

but quality will out.

Why oh Why has nobody mentioned Chris Farlowe, Long john Baldry,Alan Price,Eric Burdon or Paul Jones?
Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols. You might not like the music but you have to agree he was perfect for the role. Angry, bored, comical, spiteful, bothered, not bothered, all at the same time.
