Tamiflu depression . . . have you had it?
4 Answers
My husband and I were prescribed Tamiflu. I was fine, but my husband (normally very happy and outgoing) became severely depressed and confessed to having destructive thoughts. I have heard that there are cases of this happening but it's rare, but has anyone else on Anwerbank experienced it and if so how long did it take for the side effects to disappear?

Self reported instance of neurological disturbance, anxiety effects, depression, hallucinations, panic attacks and other similar instances comprise over 20% of reported (NOTE; these are self reported symptoms from a relatively small number of respondents, and have not necessarily been independantly verified) symptoms. In the main, these serious side effects are self-limiting, ie will leave once the course of drugs has been taken, but not always.
This is a serious side effect you are reporting on Nelly - Have you contacted your GP? You really should be seeking professional medical help as soon as possible, rather than canvassing for opinion on a general forum.

Hi nellypope,
I know this is an old thread, but I was drawn to your question about Tamiflu and severe depression and was wondering how your husband is feeling currently. What seemed to help the depressive effects? Time? Exercise? Herbal supplements? Antidepressants? I am experiencing the same after taking Tamiflu and would love to hear from you about his recovery. Thanks for any info and/or support you can give. :)
