Further to to question about Voyager I have decided to ask this
'Where were you at the moment Apollo landed on the Moon?'
As I said, I was in Cambridge at a pub called The Mill by the river Cam, even the traffic stopped as the announcement came through.

I was in my mother-in-law to be s house watching it in B & W I was 24yrs old....married the following year - three beautiful children & divorced 1993.
Twenty years into my second marriage!.....
The Landing in my memory was some time after midnight in the UK -Wasn't it??

As I said earlier I was at work when they landed but I arrived home just in time to see the walk.I was still living at home at the time and I was surprised 'cause mum and dad were still up glued to the T.V,same little PYE everybody had, with a plate of sandwiches and a kettle and the tea pot handy so they wouldn't miss anything.

I was sitting in my lounge room at home in Australia with my two-year old son on my lap. I wanted him to be able to tell people in the future that he saw it 'live' on TV.

In a youth hostel in Donegal, in the back of beyond. No television, so we all crowded round a radio.

Dee sa, no one who lived through that era would ever believe for a second the rubbish about it being faked. For a start the USSR were tracking it every inch of the way, it was a huge humiliation for them as previous to the Apollo program the USSR was way ahead in the space race. Any fakery would have been a huge political coup for them, you have to remember that USA and USSR were just hours away from full blown nuclear war at the time. They really hated to see the USA winning and would have stopped at nothing to uncover a plot.
